ABOUT US
SEDHURO, an independent, non-religious, not-for profit making and non-political local non-governmental organisation, was established in Kismayo on 21 st September 2002 and registered in Kenya in October 2012. The main purpose is to contribute and foster the ideals of human rights, democracy, and good governance and community sustainable development and peace restoration within Somali communities.
Our Guiding Principles
SEDHURO mission is to contribute and foster the ideals of human rights, democracy, good governance
and community sustainable peace and livelihoods within Somali communities as well as promotion of
hygiene and sanitation.
SEDHURO aims to see a just, peace and prosperous Somali nation with permanent respect for human
rights through good governance, sustainable peace and development in Somalia regardless to nationality,
ethnicity, and sex, political or religious beliefs.

- Impartiality:
The organization work for equal rights and equal access to opportunities and adopts the position in which
there is no discrimination as to gender, social identity or status or regional origin, political opinion and religion.
SEDHURO operations are based on objectively ascertained needs alone whereby the vulnerable groups such
as women and minorities are given priority. - Accountability
SEDHURO organizations shall hold themselves accountable to the community beneficiary, local authority and
the donors. - Transparency
The organisation shall be transparent and open in all their dealings with community beneficiary, local authority
and the donors. - Gender sensitivity and equity
The organisation activities shall reflect and apply gender sensitivity and fairness.
