Essential Learning Materials
SEDHURO enhances the quality of education by providing schools with essential learning and teaching materials. These include textbooks, exercise books, learning kits, teaching aids, and classroom supplies. By reducing material shortages, we ensure that students—especially those in underserved or crisis-affected communities—can learn in safe, supportive, and well-equipped environments.
Vocational Training & Marketable Skills
Recognizing the high levels of youth unemployment in Somalia, SEDHURO invests in vocational and skills-based training that prepares young people for the job market. Our programs offer practical, employable skills such as tailoring, carpentry, mechanics, ICT, and entrepreneurship. Through hands-on training and mentorship, SEDHURO empowers youth to become self-reliant and economically active.
School Referral & Enrollment Support
SEDHURO collaborates with communities, teachers, and local education authorities to identify children who have reached school-going age but remain out of school. We facilitate referrals to nearby public or community schools, support caregivers throughout the enrollment process, and conduct follow-up visits to ensure continued safety and retention in school.
Literacy & Numeracy in Safe Spaces
For displaced, marginalized, or previously out-of-school children, SEDHURO's child-friendly safe spaces offer foundational literacy and numeracy lessons. These sessions help children strengthen reading, writing, and early numeracy skills, build confidence, and prepare for successful transition into formal education.
